Planning a trip to Jordan in September? September is somewhere between summer and autumn in the northern hemisphere, and it’s a great time to visit Jordan – especially if you don’t love hot weather.
September is one of the most popular months to visit Jordan, because of the pleasant weather; gone are the sweltering days in Aqaba, but the cold winter nights of the year haven’t yet arrived either. I’m planning my next trip to Jordan in September or October, since I’ve only ever visited in the spring before.

September marks the transition from summer to fall in Jordan. Consequently, this month brings cooler temperatures, with the average high in the capital city of Amman hovering around 86°F (30°C) and the average low dipping to a comfortable 64°F (18°C). In other areas, such as Aqaba, the average high can reach 95°F (35°C) – luckily, the Red Sea breezes provide a break from the heat.

As you can see from the temperatures, the Jordan weather in September is mild and comfortable. It is generally sunny and dry, with little to no rainfall. The humidity levels are low, making it comfortable to explore the country’s outdoor attractions. - It’s the beginning of the high season. September in Jordan is synonymous with great weather and that means tourists flock to the middle eastern hotspot to enjoy all the things it has to offer. Be ready to find tons of crowds wherever you go.
- Everything will be more expensive. Jordan isn’t a cheap destination regardless of the season you visit, but in September, accommodation, flight, and tour prices soar.
- Book accommodations in advance. As September is a highly popular time to visit Jordan, it’s best to book your accommodations well in advance to avoid any last-minute hassles.
